LOCATION In 1995, these conferences will be held outside a university campus for the first time, at the Ramada Grand Hotel in the South Australian seaside suburb of Glenelg. The Ramada Grand, occupying a spectacular beach front site, is one of South Australia's newest hotels, built in the tradition of the truly grand hotels of 19th Century Europe. Glenelg is South Australia's premier seaside resort and is 15 minutes by car or 25 minutes by tram from Adelaide's city centre. The weather in Adelaide in late January and early February is dry, sunny and warm to hot, although the humidity is normally fairly low. TRAVEL Adelaide International Airport is within 5km of the conference venue and the accommodation. During the conferences, all transport is either arranged or easily accessible. For example, coaches have been organised for the conference dinners and the Glenelg Tram runs frequently to and from the heart of Adelaide. ACCREDITATION The Australian Computer Society has accredited ACSC'95 with 18 Practising Computer Professional (PCP) points and ADC'95 with 12 Practising Computer Professional (PCP) points. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Adelaide and the surrounding districts are among Australia's foremost holiday destinations. In particular, South Australia boasts five of Australia's finest wine making regions. The conference dinner for the Australasian Computer Science Conference has been arranged at one of South Australia's leading wineries. In addition, the Database Conference Dinner and a gourmet barbeque during the Computer Science Conference will be held at the picturesque Bedford Park Campus of Flinders University, overlooking Adelaide and the sea. While you are here, we hope you will also take the opportunity to sample some of the many delights South Australia has to offer and the conference secretariat would be happy to arrange further accommodation either side of the conference dates, should you require this.
