Applications are invited for one or more University Graduate Fellowships for PhD studies in Computer Science for August, 1994. The Fellowship pays approximately $12,000 per year and includes a waiver of the usual $6000 enrollment fee. Fellowships are awarded on a yearly basis.
Applicants whose research interests lie in formal aspects of programming languages and real-time systems are especially invited to apply. Research efforts in these areas are supported by the following faculty members: David Schmidt (denotational semantics), Allen Stoughton (denotational semantics), Brian Howard (type theory and logic), George Strecker (category theory), and Maria Zamfir-Bleyberg (semantics of concurrency), and Rodney Howell (real-time scheduling).
Qualified applicants will have an M.S. degree or its equivalent, a strong academic record, and a solid background in computing. The Fellowships are funded by the University's Graduate School, who requires that applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. International applicants are invited to inquire about Departmental Teaching and Research Assistantships, which possess approximately the same financial benefits as Graduate Fellowships.
The deadline for applications is February 15, 1995. Interested individuals can obtain applications materials at the WWW or they may contact David Schmidt (email: schmidt@cis.ksu.edu; phone: 1-913-532-6350) for information and applications materials.
