[JE] ================================================ AMAST Links 02 01 Computer Engineering Search for Faculty Positions starting Fall 1995 University of Idaho, Computer Engineering Program The University of Idaho is expanding its engineering program in Boise (Idaho) and invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at assistant professor level and one at full/associate professor level in the computer engineering program for the fall semester 1995. Particular areas of interest include real-time systems, computer engineering, and software engineering. The program is offered jointly by the faculties of electrical engineering and computer science. Qualifications for the positions include an earned Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science; industrial experience; the ability to communicate effectively; and teaching and research ability. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching and research experience, and the ability to effectively work with industry. The incumbents will teach courses in the computer engineering program. Successful applicants will also conduct research, supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students, and assist in the development of the curriculum and laboratories to support the program in Moscow and Boise. The University of Idaho is the land-grant university of Idaho and has statewide responsibility for engineering education. The main campus is located in Moscow, with branch programs in Boise and Idaho Falls. Faculty are sought who can work cooperatively with engineers from regional manufacturers on both fundamental and applied research opportunities. Faculty can also participate in the Engineering Assistance Center that provides technology extension services to small and medium sized manufacturers.
