[J7] ================================================ AMAST Links 02 05 Industrial Research Chair In Telecommunication Software System Reliability Engineering Bell Canada/NSERC The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo seeks candidates for appointment to the Bell Canada/NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Telecommunication Software System Reliability Engineering. The two chairholders will be appointed as tenured or tenure-track faculty members in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. They should have a doctoral degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and a strong commitment to research and teaching. The candidate for one of the two positions should be qualified at the level of full professor. He/she must have background and experience relevant to the research orientation and activities of the Chair including research record in software reliability engineering or closely related area of expertise in software reliability/quality, telecommunication industry experience or software systems development experience and good understanding of the assumptions underlying telecommunication software (or a willingness to work with the industrial sponsor to acquire these). Analytical capability in reliability modeling is viewed to be equally important to the background in the telecommunication industry. The candidate for the other position should be qualified for a tenured academic position. He/she must have background and experience relevant to the research orientation and activities of the Chair including substantial industrial experience in development of telecommunication software and research record in the field of software reliability engineering.
