Research Associate - One Year Appointment

The Advanced Computing Research Center is one of the University of South Australia's nine newly-endowed research centers.

The Center is seeking to appoint a candidate to participate in the Distributed Object Recognition research project. This project is currently funded by a University Development Grant on a one year basis. Future funding is possible depending on progress. To participate in this project the following qualification is desirable:

higher degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering
research or working experience in the area of image processing and computer vision
sound knowledge of distributed systems and parallel processing
basic understanding of real-time computing
good programming skills and familiar with C, C++ and Unix
knowledge of techniques for system performance evaluation
satisfactory publication record
capacity and enthusiasm to work in a team

Annual salary is A$34,602 to A$40,087 depending on experience.
