[J4] ================================================ AMAST Links 02 07 Two Research Positions in Database and Work Flow Management University of Twente, The Netherlands Work flow on Intelligent Distributed database Environment (WIDE) is an ESPRIT project aiming at the development of a next generation work flow management system based on state-of-the-art database technology. The project is organized in five main work packages: transaction management, active rule processing, database integration, work flow methodology, and end user testing. The main tasks in WIDE of the University of Twente are located in the extended transaction management and work flow methodology work packages. The extended transaction management work package aims at the specification and implementation of an advanced transaction management module that is to be integrated with the active rule processing module and the general database platform. The work flow methodology package aims at the specification of a work flow specification technique and workflow design methodology and tools. From November 1st 1995, two research positions will be available in the WIDE project at the University of Twente, each position for 30 months period. Extension of the positions will be a possibility to allow further research leading to a Ph.D. thesis. One position will be mostly devoted to the extended transaction management work package, the other to a combination of the work flow methodology and extended transaction management work packages. Candidates for the positions should hold a M.Sc. in computer science. Background in database management systems and/or work flow management is an advantage.
