IRW/FMP'98&TPHOLs'98:Travel Bursaries and Other Announcements

TRAVEL BURSARIES

Travel bursaries are now available for students who wish to attend
IRW/FMP'98 or TPHOLs'98, and who would otherwise not have sufficient
funds to do so. Bursaries will ordinarily be awarded for amounts of
up to A$1000.

Sponsorship for the bursaries has generously be provided by the Intel
corporation, The Australian National University Department of Computer
Science, and the Australian Research Council. As a result we have in
excess of A$12,000 available for student travel bursaries.

The decision to award a bursary and the amount awarded will be made by
the organising committees based on applicants' need for assistance and
their potential contribution to the event. Complete details of the
application procedure will soon be available via the following web sites:

IRW/FMP'98 INVITED SPEAKERS

The Organising Committee for IRW/FMP'98 regret to announce that
Jean-Raymond Abrial is unable to be an invited speaker at the workshop
as originally advertised. However, it gives it great pleasure to
announce that Jim Woodcock of the Oxford University Computing
Laboratory has joined Joakim von Wright and Ian Hayes as an invited
speaker for the workshop.
