JMLC2000 -- 2ND CALL FOR PAPERS

Joint Modular Languages Conference
6th - 8th September 2000

The construction of large software systems remains a real challenge and 
many different avenues may lead to success - and raise a multitude 
of questions and issues such as: 

* New architectural concepts beyond object orientation 
* Large integrated development environments 
* Language concepts to aid modularization 
* System and application frameworks 
* Component architectures 
* Metaprogramming 

Original papers focusing on the issues above and on other aspects of 
modular languages are sollicited until Monday 31th January 2000 to

Papers are not to exceed 12 pages. 
Case studies and industrial applications are welcomed. Extended 
abstracts will also be considered. Electronic submissions in Postscript 
form to "jmlc@inf.ethz.ch" with Subject "submission" followed by the 
name of the main author. 

The conference proceedings will be published by Springer as 
Lecture Notes in Computer Science.

In conjunction with the conference we offer a number of half-day 
tutorials on Java Beans, COM, CORBA, etc. given by the developers of
these tools.

The conference offers a limited amount of travel grants. To apply for one,
please contact us directly.

JMLC 2000 Overview


The scope of the Joint Modular Languages Conference (JMLC) is "programming 
in the large" and in particular the developement of high quality software 
systems using modular techniques, object-oriented techniques and beyond.
The JMLC has already a tradition. Earlier issues were held in:
 1987, Bled, Slovenia
 1990, Loughborough, Great Britain
 1994, Ulm, Germany

The JMLC2000 Conference will be held at ETH Zurich (Federal Institute of Technology).
