ETAPS 2001: CALL FOR SATELLITE EVENT PROPOSALS

The European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software
(ETAPS) is a loose and open confederation of existing and new
conferences and other events which is the primary European forum for
academic and industrial researchers working on topics relating to
Software Science. Founded in 1998, it is an annual meeting covering
a wide range of topics in Software Science which will take place in
Europe each spring.
ETAPS 2001, will be held in Genova, Italy, from 2 to 6 April 2001,
hosted by DISI.
The following five main conferences will participate in ETAPS:
o CC 2001: International Conference on Compiler Construction
o ESOP 2001, European Symposium On Programming
o FASE 2001, Fundamental Approaches to Software Engineering
o FOSSACS 2001, Foundations of Software Science and Computation
Structures
o TACAS 2001, Tools and Algorithms for the Construction and
Analysis of Systems
The organizers are making arrangements to facilitate the running of
pre and post conference events.
Conference and lecture rooms have been reserved at DISI for
o Pre-conference events: Friday March 30 - Sunday April 1, 2001
o Post-conference events: Saturday April 7 - Monday April 9, 2001
The extension of the satellite events to the first and last days of
the conferences may be arranged with the organizers depending on
time and space availability.
Researchers and practitioners wishing to organise a satellite event
related to ETAPS 2001 should contact (preferably by email)

to discuss the details and the format of their proposals (the
expected "formal" proposals are expected to be no more than two
pages long).
The proposals will be evaluated on the basis of their assessed
benefit for prospective participants to ETAPS 2000.
Submissions should be sent, electronically
(plain text or uuencoded gzipped Postscript), to:

Proposals sent by December 1999 will be evaluated by January 2000
and, if accepted, announced in the brochures of the call for
participation in the main conferences. It is also possible to send
proposals later, that will be evaluated within a month from their
submission.
